Happy Halloween!

Here are some pictures of our little pumpkin and what we've been up to recently!

We had our first cold day and first fire in the fireplace of the season!

He met his cousin Colton who is only 7 weeks older. Don't be fooled by the pic. They will be best buds for sure.

He wore his first pair of sneakers thanks to Nonna and Pop!

We're getting a little big more used to bath time...

Just a little...

1 Month

Our sweet Finn, You've only been a part of our life for 33 days. But oh what an impact you've already made. You have captured our hearts with your sweet little smiles and facial expressions. We are so thankful that God chose us to be your parents. You fill us with more joy than we could've ever imagined. We love you to pieces little man and can't wait to watch you grow (but not too quickly).

Here are some highlights of the month...

- You are up to 8 lbs 6 oz and  21 in long! You are in the 5th percentile for weight and length, so you are still quite a little guy- but we know that you will catch up in no time. You've gained two pounds in the last two weeks alone!

- You had a lot of firsts. First bath. First stroller ride. First plane ride. First car trip. First trip to Clemson. Fist smile (I refuse to believe it's just gas, because you do it when you hear our voices).

- You moved to your crib in your own room at exactly one month. Mommy may have been a little hesitant to do this, but you seem to be liking it so far. In all fairness, you were two weeks old when we came home.

-You are a good eater- you take your bottles like a champ! Right now, you are on Alimentum because they thought you could have a milk allergy due to biological history and the NICU didn't want to put your little body through anymore stress. We just got the green light from your doctor to try regular formula and see how you like it since we don't know for sure if you have an allergy or not.

- You do not like having your arms tied down in a swaddle and you let us know exactly how you feel about this.

First, let's take a look back to see where you started. We may not have been able to stay with you on your first night, but mommy and daddy were by your side from day one. It hurt us to see you hooked up to so many monitors and on a ventilator, but we knew you needed time to grow big and strong.

You keep us laughing with all of your many faces. Here are some of our favorites..

You actually seem to enjoy tummy time. You're getting very strong and even hold your head up to move it from side to side.

So bath time is still not quite your favorite. You don't really cry, but rather just look very startled and nervous. Hopefully this will become more fun, because mommy and daddy love your bath time in the evenings.

Nonna and Pop gave you your stroller, so we took it for a spin. You slept through most of it, but mommy really enjoyed it. We just couldn't waste this beautiful Fall weather.

Here are some pictures I took with your official "one month" sticker.

And you were done...

Clemson Weekend

Last weekend, we had a fun reunion weekend with my college roommates and their husbands. This is the second year that we've done this so I can officially say this is an annual tradition : ) When we planned it back in March, this was intended to be a kid-free, wild and crazy weekend for two of the couples (and by wild and crazy, I mean trying to stay awake until midnight). This weekend turned into Finn's first trip to Clemson and we're pretty sure he loved it. This was really our first time out of the house as a family since we got back from Kansas. We are on germ-prevention overload since our little guy was a preemie with respiratory issues, so he may not have actually seen much of Clemson- but we have the pictures to show him he was there when he's older. We didn't go into the game with everyone else, but instead watched it on TV back at the lake house. So far, Finn is 4 and 0 since birth. Let's hope that changes to 5 and 0 after this weekend. #winforfinn

No trip to Clemson (or Columbia or Charleston..) is complete without lunch at Groucho's.

We took this same picture Labor Day weekend. A lot can change in 5 weeks.

Special father/son bonding time..
