SNOW

We, along with the rest of metro Atlanta, were surprised with a snow day on Friday. I say surprised, because the forecast called for flurries- which if you're from the South can still be enough to send folks running to the grocery stores for bread and milk. Sure enough, Friday morning we started out with flurries. Finn still had school, because said "flurries" were not expected to stick to the roadways. But then it kept snowing. And snowing. And snowing! By the time I went and picked Finn up, it was really coming down and traffic was already starting to get awful. I will be the first to say that the South definitely exaggerates when it comes to snow (i.e. the bread and milk dash). Remember Snowpocalypse of 2014? An inch can shut down the city for a week. Well all in all, we ended up with close to 9 inches this past weekend. That's right- 9 inches near our house. So crazy! It was so pretty and such a fun little Christmas surprise. The downside is that we did have a lot of trees and limbs come down- thankfully none on our house, but it was unsettling to lay in bed and hear the cracking of the trees all night long. We also never lost power, but I know many did. All in all, it ended up being some unexpected sweet family time even though it delayed our driving to South Carolina by a day. This was also Jude's first snow day, but he slept through most of it.

Before school, Finn playing in the "flurries" that we thought would be the only snow we saw that day.

Ryder was not a fan. He is his daddy and does not want anything to do with being cold.

Friday evening.

Saturday morning, as it was still snowing.
