Our sweet Finn, your personality is just bursting at the seams. You are So. Much. Fun. Your smile just radiates through the room and you've never met a stranger. You have two speeds- fast and asleep. You are always on. the go. You love sports of all kind but your favorites to play are golf and soccer just like your daddy. You would live outside if we let you and your least favorite time of day is when you have to come in for bed. You love to eat and are really not picky at all, but your favorite is definitely pasta- a boy after mommy's own heart.
You started your very first school this year, and you absolutely love it! You run towards the door and immediately start coloring or playing. You love your teachers and love being a "big helper" in class.
We haven't been to the doctor for your checkup yet, but last I checked, you're close to 29lbs and 37in. You're wearing mostly 2T-3T clothing, and your favorite thing to wear is your "bas-balls" (basketball shorts) like daddy.
You have the kindest little heart. It makes you so sad when Ryder is sad and if I'm ever upset at you, you always ask "are you happy mommy?" You are such the little servant and love to open the door for mommy, clean up messes, clean up anything really, do yard work, help with laundry, help with anything related to Ryder, help me grocery shop and then cook. You want to fix your own breakfast so badly and don't understand why you can't do it completely on your own.
Your favorite shows are Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Super Why and Curious George.
You love going to church and it makes our hearts so happy to see how much you love playing with your friends, singing the songs and telling us that "God loves me SOOOO much!". You also love to look at your Bible (the Jesus Storybook Bible) and always want to "kiss Jesus' boo boos" on the cross.
You still have asthma and I have a feeling it's not going anywhere anytime soon. A lot of kids will outgrow it, but we know you have a strong family history of it. Combine that with the fact that you were a preemie and your lungs just weren't as developed at birth, stacks the deck against you in the respiratory department. It hardly slows you down though! Last Christmas was probably the scariest we've seen it in you since you were born. We spent five days at Texas Children's Hospital while you recovered from RSV Bronchiolitis. It will certainly be one that you'll never remember, but we'll never forget.
You love to dance and you love music! Every single morning, when we get in the car you ask me for the "party song" aka "Can't Stop the Feeling" but Justin Timberlake and you want it loud. Coming in at a close second would be Needtobreathe and Mumford and Sons because they have "a lot of guitars, mandolins and banjo's".
We love you more than you'll know, sweet boy and are so thankful that God chose us to be your mommy and daddy. You just keep getting more fun and we are so excited to see what this next year holds for you!
Here are some pictures from how we celebrated your big day! We got to come to your school for cupcakes last Friday and you were so excited to pass them out to your friends and sweep up the crumbs afterwards. We have your party this weekend, so that will come in a later post.
Then on your actual birthday, we started the day with cinnamon rolls and you got your very own guitar- the first of many I'm sure. The past few months, your absolute favorite activity has been playing guitar with daddy before bed so you were over the moon to have your very own! You also happen to be a lefty with the golf club and guitar. Then Dustin had to head to work for a bit, so I took you and Ryder to the Children's Museum to play for awhile before we met daddy at church with a picnic lunch. After nap, we played outside and went out for your birthday dinner to a mexican restaurant by our house. It was fun full day!
Ryder woke up at 5:00 to help with birthday prep. Just kidding. he's been beating the sun up by a long shot for a solid 18 months now. Good thing he's cute.
