Wild One

Fastest. Year. Ever. I thought that Finn's first year flew by quickly, but chasing a toddler while trying to keep a tiny human alive seems to make time move at warp speed. Here we are, though. Our littlest man turned one on Saturday and we had his "Wild ONE" party at home with family and a couple close friends. Finn's first birthday party was a big "to-do", because we also used it as a celebration for everyone that played a part in his adoption. I was happy to keep Ryder's party small at home. Here are some highlights from the weekend.

We started the weekend with dinner at Taqueria del sol and ice cream at Jeni's. We ate here at least once a week when I was pregnant and then on the night before Ryder was born, so it was only fitting to go before his first birthday. That and cheese dip.

The birthday boy liked his balloon until it started chasing him.
Finn did such a great job the whole day and helped celebrate his baby brother. We only had one instance of truck-stealing.

My second-born baby boy

Not sure how we feel about turning one.

Maybe we should've prepped him for the cake process. Sweet boy wasn't happy with how sticky his hands were after he touched his cake.
"Is it supposed to be on fire?"

 "what is this- glue?"
 "why isn't it coming off?!"
 "it tastes okay, though"
 "I'll try it again"
 "Nope, still don't like it"
 "Reeeaaalllyyy don't like it"
"Why isn't anyone taking this seriously?!"
 "not impressed"
 "But it does taste good"
 "Nope. Nope. Nope"

After naps, we headed to Shake Shack for burgers on the rooftop patio. It's safe to say this kid thoroughly enjoyed his day. Cake icing and all.
 I love these people.
We have Ryder's one year doctor's appointment tomorrow, so stay tuned for his twelve month post once I get his official stats.
